We departed the marina on a picture perfect lake with Troy, Kathy and Elliot. We set up, managed a few fish before our spot dried up and we went into search mode. We got a hot tip from our friends at Blacktop Charters and we decided to make a move. After finding the spot the bite was on and we finished the day going 17/18 on Lake Trout.

Once again we headed back out to the spot with Randy and Dan, changing winds with thick fog at times seemed to give the Lake Trout lock jaw. We did manage to grind out several takers finishing 7/11 on Lake Trout.
Heading back out for some Lake Trout action, we teamed up with Dave and his crew and the bite was on. We managed a steady bite ending the day going 18/22 on Lake Trout, boxing a bonus Walleye.
I headed out with Bob, Jay and Tyler on the search for hungry Lake Trout. After a slow start we managed a steady pick ending the day going 11/17 on Lake Trout.
I headed out on the first Lake Trout trip of the year with Denny and his crew. After a slow start we dialed into a steady bite and managed to end the day going 26 for 29 on Lake Trout and boating a bonus 8# Walleye (the first Walleye of the 2016 season). Once again fish averaged in the 10-14 # range with the biggest fish going 18#s.
I headed out with Capt. Ron, Mate Greg and Shreffy for a day of Lake Trout fishing. Knowing we were on borrowed time with the approaching winds we dialed in quickly going 14 for 18 on Lake trout, before calling it a day at noon when the nasty west winds hit us. Fish averaged in the 10-14 # range with the biggest going 18#s.
After a late start with Capt. Paul Snyder of Ditch Chicken Charters and my Dad aboard, we decided to dust off the Lake Trout gear and search for some hungry Lakers. With the fish scattered we covered ground finding a slow pick finishing the day going 12 for 14 on Lake Trout, with the biggest tipping the scales a just over 20#s.
With a nasty W/SW wind going West wasn’t an option so we decided to fish the east side with Steve and his crew. We had steady action from the start. We ended up filling the box with their 4 man limit of 12 Steelhead going 12/17, also boxing a bonus Lake Trout, with enough time to make it to the dock for lunch. Despite the wind it was a great day of Steelhead fishing.
Team Outcast wins 1st Place in the E.P.S.F.A. Fall Trout ChallengeTeam Outcast (Capt. Jason, Capt. Ron, Chris and Brian) fished the Erie PA Sportfishing Association – Fall Trout Challenge. We left the dock at 6:am sharp heading west in the darkness to fish the spots that were productive earlier in the week. We rounded the point only to get hit by the building chop coming from the W/NW. With the weather report indicating that things were only going to get worse we made a team decision to go to plan B waters sheltered by Presque Isle. As the lines went in at the 7:am start it was an immediate double. The fishing was ferocious and we managed to box the weigh in minimum of 6 by 8:30 and it was upgrade mode from there. It was a steady bite until we headed for weigh-ins at 2:30. We finished the day going 23 for 31 on Steelhead, with our 6 biggest Steelhead tipping the scales at 37#s 9 oz, landing us in the top spot.
We headed west with Megan and Keith. A big blow from the previous day had the inside waters muddy. After a slow start we found some cleaner water and hungry fish. We managed to go 10 for 12 on Steelhead boxing their 6 fish limit and sending the others back for another day.
