Fishing Report – 7/7/18: I showed up at the dock only to be greeted by a nasty East wind and 3-6’ waves. I talked it over with Randy, Dan and Jared, and we decide on a 1.5 hour delay to see if conditions would improve. We headed out at 7:am and things were subsiding, only leaving some large rollers from the East. We set up on another great bite. We easily boxed their 18 Walleye limit, sifting through the fish to put together a pretty good box. The big fish of the day went to Randy with his 8.5# - 31.5” trophy that managed to best Dan’s 8.5#er that only measured 29.5”. Despite his size Jared was awesome on the sticks and had a near perfect streak. Great work guys!

Fishing Report – 7/6/18: Despite the steady North wind and 3-4’ chop, we headed out with Skip and Jon. The great fishing continued as we easily boxed their 12 fish limit sorting through the many Walleye to put together a box of nice eaters. Great fishing with great company, thanks guys!
EPSFA Walleye Challenge – 6/23/18: Team Outcast consisting of myself, Curtis and Oren fished the Erie PA Sport Fishing Association – Walleye Challenge tournament in which competing teams weighed their nine largest fish of the day. On Thursday and Friday a gusty NE wind pushed cold water near shore turning the spots that we had been previously fishing to ice water. That, along with the fact that we hadn’t been catching many tournament quality fish, left us scratching our heads tournament morning on where to fish. We opted to head offshore in search of some warmer water temps. As we left port and headed offshore our suspicions were correct and the water temps began to rise. After finding some good temps and in a place that looked promising, we deployed the setup at the 6:30am start. Things started slow but quickly got hot and we had a non-stop bite throughout most of the tournament. We sorted through a lot of fish to put together what we though was a decent box. We headed to weigh-ins and our 9 fish box tipped the scales at 43.80#s which was enough to secure us a 2nd place finish out of the field of 22 teams.
Fishing Report – 6/22/18: I arrived at the marina only to discover that the gusty NE wind from yesterday continued to blow. We headed out with Justin and crew to decide if the lake was fishable or if it would be a scratch. Out on the lake we found sloppy 2-3’ waves. Heading toward yesterday’s spot all we found was ice water. On a tip from Capt Ken of Blacktop Charters, we turned the boat and headed for warmer water. Once we found more suitable temps, our bite turned into a steady pick but slowed as the NE wind continued to drop the water temp. We managed to end the day boxing their 24 Walleye limit, along with 0/3 on Steelhead and boxing a bonus Brown Trout. It was a brutal day on the lake; Sloppy chop, rain, cold temps and a couple cases of the lake Erie Flu. The guys gutted it out to get their fish. The ironman award goes to Mike who despite a bad case of the Lake Erie Flu hung in there until we filled the box. Thanks guys, good work!
Fishing Report – 6/21/18: First Mate Curtis and I headed out on a flat lake with Brad and Carrie. After the setup we found a steady bite keeping the crew busy on the rods. By mid-morning a gusty NE wind kicked up, the bite slowed a bit with the building waves. We managed to box the crew’s 12 Walleye limit also sending many fish back to fight another day. The crew had a friendly bet on who could boat the biggest Walleye of the day and honors went to Carrie, who boated a hefty 5.8#er. Another great day of fishing with a great crew.
Fishing Report – 6/17/18: Day #2 with Mort, along with Jeff and Scott. It was another action packed day of fishing despite the brutal heat and BUGS! We managed to box our 18 Walleye limit along with 8 nice Smallmouth Bass and less junk fish today. Great fishing and a great crew.
Fishing Report – 6/16/18: I fished with Mort, Jeff and Katie and it was non-stop action from the start. We boxed our 18 Walleye limit, + 4 nice Perch, several smallmouth bass, multiple white bass, too many sheephead to count and a 14.5# Catfish. The crew so named it the smorgas-box. The biggest walleye of the day tipped the scales at 9.5#s. A nice lake and great fishing.
Fishing Report – 6/9/18: I headed out with Ron, Curtis and Chris to do some fun fishing on a day off. We found a steady bite most of the morning with some junk fish in the mix. We easily boxed our 24 fish limit sending several small fish back to fight another day. The fish were on the small side but a great day to be on the water.
Fishing Report - 5/26/18: We switched gears today with Curtis, Jess and Ron; targeting some early season Walleye. The first fish bites on the set up and Jess hauls in a monster Catfish ??? an Outcast first! We managed to end the day 9/11 for Walleye, also boating a football sized 5# Smallmouth Bass. What a great day to be on the water.
Fishing Report - 5/20/18: I headed out with Ron and Jake today in search of Lake Trout. With 2 fish on the setup we thought it was going to be an action packed day but things slowed to a sporadic pick. We managed to go 10/11 on Lake Trout also boating a bonus Walleye. The fish were a bit smaller today with the biggest going 12#s.
