​We rounded the point with Graham, Mike and Guy and made a left turn into rough seas, which have seemed to be the norm lately.  We sawed our way through the waves until we couldn’t take it anymore and turned her around setting up for an all day, one way slide.  We managed to boat 10 Walleye and sent back another 5 short eyes before we made it to the point and called it early due to the steady 6 foot waves and building seas. 

​We headed out with Justin and his Dad on a calm lake, which has been rare so far in August.  We set up and found a steady pick.  We ended the day going 13 for 15 on Walleye, boxing their 12 fish limit and sending one back for another day.  We also managed to boat 3 bonus steelhead.  With no wind and extreme heat we were glad to box out and head in early.

​We headed to yesterday’s spot, once again fighting a pretty good chop from the north.  We set up on some great action quickly boating 7 Walleye and a bonus Steelhead before the crew decided to throw in the towel at 9:am due to a bad case of the Lake Erie Flu.

​We headed out today, with Dan and Heather, only to find the stiff South wind had shifted around and was giving us rough seas from the North.  We took a long ride to find some new real estate and it paid off.  We managed to box an early two man limit of 12 Walleye going 15 for 18, sending 3 back along with several shorts.

​We headed out with Pat and his family with a ripping south wind at our back.  We set up inside on what looked like a good screen.  The fish seemed to have lock jaw and we just couldn’t seem to get things going we finished 4 for 6 on Walleye and 5 for 5 on some bonus Steelhead on what was our toughest day of the year.  Thanks to the crew, they kept positive and never gave up!

​With the winds subsiding from the previous day, we headed out into some left over rollers with Jeff and his family.  We set up on a good screen and once again started a slow pick.  We managed to end the day going 13 for 15 on Walleye and 0 for 1 on Steelhead.

​A nasty morning storm delayed our start and had us operating on a two hour delay.  With the storm passing, we headed out in rough sea conditions with Bryan and Jake.  We cut into the waves head on for as long as we could take it, setting up for a long one way slide.  Another tough bite for us but we surfed our way back into the marina on the steady 5-6’ waves, finishing the day 9 for 12 on Walleye, with an additional 3 short throw backs, and 1 for 3 on Steelhead. 

​We headed out to yesterday’s tournament spot with Rodger and Mike, thinking it might be an early box out.  Wrong!  We set up on a good screen of bait and fish and went a couple hours without moving a rod.  After going into search mode we located some fish, which changed things into a slow pick.  We finished the day with a not so good bite to catch ratio going 7 for 13 on Walleye, 2 for 4 on Steelhead, also boxing a bonus Coho salmon.

​Team Outcast (Capt. Jason, Capt. Ron and Chris) fished the Erie PA Sportfishing Association – Summer Slam II - Walleye tournament.  With no pre-fishing in the previous two days due to nasty weather with high winds/waves the game plan turned toward seeking out some colder water and fishing any temperature breaks that we could find.  We set out, did some searching a located a screen loaded with bait (smelt).  At 6:30 am, start time, we deployed our deep program.  It was game on from the first line in.  At 7:25 we boxed our 6 fish weigh in limit and shifted gears to up-grade mode, tweaking the program and location.  We managed steady upgrades but just couldn’t find the big one that we were looking for.  We finished the day boating approx. 25 Walleye, with the biggest weighing in at 8.55 lbs.  Our total weight for our 6 fish limit was 41.3 lbs, which was good enough to secure us an 8th place finish in the money.

​After cancelling yesterday and being kept in port by high winds and waves we set out with Brad and his crew.  It was a grueling 1.5 hr boat ride in heavy chop left over from the previous day to get to our spot.  We set only to find that the big blow had moved a lot of warm water into the area and the fish had lock jaw.  In an all-out search mode we ended the day going 8 for 12 on Walleye. Despite the Lake Erie flu, the crew hung in there and gave it their best.
